Graduate Programs

We develop first-rate anthropologists for service in colleges, universities, museums, and applied fields. Because of the increasing specialization of the major subfields within anthropology, training tracks rather rigorously in our department along the four subfields of Archaeological , biological anthropology, sociocultural anthropology, and linguistic anthropology. Nonetheless, opportunities exist for acquiring a general background in the discipline, either for research purposes or in preparation for a teaching career in which one is expected to offer courses from two or more of the subfields.
