Narrative

My interests lie primarily in North American Archaeology (specifically the Midwest). Through phytolith research I hope to understand the origins of wild rice in North America, particularly as this informs anthropogenic interactions with the environment. I am interested in the recovery rates of phytoliths from a variety of contexts (residues on ceramics, lithics, sediment, and lake cores), as well as the application of new analytical techniques.
